Comforting, creamy papas supremas (potato with serrano ham, soft boiled egg, tomato sauce, garlic aioli). Ask for extra bread to soak up every drop of the delectable sauces on the tender gambas al ajillo (shrimp in garlic, lemon sauce) and the albondigas de cordero (lamb meatballs in tomato sauce). Tuna conservas (worth every dime), marinated eggplant salad, and rainbow carrots — oh my. Crema Catalana cinnamon orange brulee with peaches. All these dishes also happen to be gluten free.

Hermann’s Jazz Club began nearly 40 years ago, on February 25, 1981, at the Bastion Inn on Government St, when German entrepreneur Hermann Nieweler [Knee-well-er] was persuaded by his friend Barry Stubbs to book Friday Harbor’s Island City Jazz Band for a weekend performance at his hotel lounge. Hermann’s love for a good party, lively music and happy patrons led to his establishment of the Dixieland Inn at the hotel. Hermann moved the club to the current View Street location in 1986 when it was renamed “Hermann’s Jazz Club”. In 2000, our 753 View St location suffered heavy damage from a fire. A testament to his commitment, Hermann rebuilt at great personal expense. Our friend Hermann passed on June 10th, 2015. From 2015 to 2019 his family faced many issues but have remained dedicated to their father's legacy. After running a successful fundraising campaign the non-profit Jazz On View Society has taken over as of July 15th 2019. 中世の城ではなく、精巧に建造された印象的な邸宅！X-MENの映画が撮影された場所で有名！城には13の暖炉、西側に3つの池、南側には広大な芝生の庭園が広がる。城はかつて、軍隊のアカデミーとして機能していた。現在は近隣の大学の管理棟として機能している。有料ツアーに参加する時間があれば、この邸宅を隅々まで知ることができる。結婚式や正式な式典にも最適な場所である。

You should think of Hatley Castle, and Hatley Park National Historic Site, more as an elaborate mansion and less of a medieval castle. It is still very grand and very impressive! The entire Castle was built within 2 years and had an expensive electrical system as well! The castle also had 13 fireplaces! It has a large garden with 3 ponds to it's West side and a massive lawn to it's South. The castle was occupied and acted as an academy for the armed forces but currently serves as an administrative building for the neighboring college. These are just some of the facts and figured that you will learn if you get to chance and have the time to take part in their paid tour! It's definitely worthwhile. This site also has a huge grass lawn along with a multiple gardens that, altogether, contain 3 ponds. Ample paid parking just south of the castle. This is also a great place for weddings and formal ceremonies.

Absolutely gorgeous lake. On a clear, sunny day in spring or summer it's incredibly beautiful, and hard to believe it's just another lake on Vancouver Island! This is one of those lakes you really have to see on the island. I highly recommend checking it out. There's a trail that goes all the way around the lake, so you can walk around or run around (if you run it takes about 20 minutes or so to get around it). It's also a fantastic spot for swimming! This lake really is a spectacle!

Craigdarroch Castle is a definitively Victorian experience. It is a shining example of a “bonanza castle” — massive houses built for entrepreneurs who became wealthy during the industrial age. In this case, the industrialist was Robert Dunsmuir, a Scottish immigrant who made his fortune from Vancouver Island coal. This legendary Victorian mansion, built between 1887 and 1890 on a hill overlooking the City of Victoria, announced to the world that Robert Dunsmuir was the richest and most important man in Western Canada. He died in 1889, leaving his entire estate to his wife Joan, who lived in the Castle until her death in 1908. The immense fortune of the Dunsmuir family is reflected in the four floors of exquisite stained glass windows, intricate woodwork and fabulous Victorian-era furnishings.

Everyone who goes to Victoria needs to walk out to the Breakwater Lighthouse! We ventured out on a very windy day and experienced the high surf against the barrier wall. You get a fantastic view of the shore from the lighthouse and it's great exercise to get out there because of how long the walkway is from the shore.

A fantastic pit stop on your way to Juan de Fuca. The staff there are super friendly and can share insights on attractions and seasonality expectation. There are also lots of resources free to take that can help you gain some knowledge about particular attraction points. The historical equipment and items were very neat, love the knowledge shared along with some story telling audio display. The garden was designed to frame the architectural details of the Italianate house. A number of ornamental plants, roses, trees, the Wellingtonia redwood tree, also known as a Sequoiadendron giganteum, which was ordered from San Francisco in 1876. The property also contained vegetable and cut flower gardens, a small fruit orchard, and a greenhouse. The House has a fine collection of Victorian garden tools and catalogues, as well as heirloom plantings.

Victoria has a long association with tea, but we take it to the next level. Our tea program is heavily influenced by Asian culture, consisting of a custom mix of single-estate teas and blends, all presented in a culturally appropriate way. Excellent trail that goes around the perimeter of this beautiful lake. The trail for the most part is easy with some roots and rocks on the well traveled path. The southern portion of the lake has a section with a moderate upwards climb that isn't very high but it is more challenging for those that may have some mobility issues. Other than that most of the trail is easy. Small little beach at the eastern portion of the park. Great place to launch a kayak or canoe.

The water was calm and the boat very comfortable. It's pretty chilly on the water so consider wearing pants and bringing a light jacket. In addition to the sea life, the views of Mt. Baker, the Olympic Mountains, a number of islands and the coast were spectacular!

Small and cozy location. We greatly enjoyed the heritage burger (added cheese and bacon) and the delizioso chicken burger. The fries and chips are house made and I like that they'll do a half of each as your side. After 9pm daily burgers are half price, though unfortunately this appears to be their busiest time of day.

The university gardens were developed when, in 1974, the estate of Mrs. Jeanne Buchanan Simpson of Cowichan Lake was left to the university. Theirs was the largest collection in British Columbia. The collection now includes more than 200 rhododendron species and azaleas along with an extensive planting of hybrids, most of them of early origin.
